27/5 SCREAMING QUEENS: THE RIOT AT COMPTON’S CAFETERIA screening

This month we wrap up the feminism and gender series with a film screening and discussion. The film is Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria (dir. Susan Stryker 2005). It looks at a key moment in the history of Queer and trans* activism in the USA – a fightback by a group of transgendered people against police in mid-1960s San Francisco.
